from the dept. The Biology Department at Randolph-Macon College seeks an Ecologist for a full-time one- or two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin in September 2010. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., and post-doctoral experience is preferred. The successful applicant will teach the equivalent of four lecture/lab courses per year, including participation in an innovative introductory biology sequence, an upper-level general ecology course with a lab/field component, and other upper-level courses in their specialty. Teaching opportunities are also available to participate in the college's Environmental Studies program and in the general liberal arts program by teaching a non-majors course. Research opportunities with undergraduate students are also available. Field work locations include a nearby college-owned forested field site, and access to several rivers, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Atlantic coast. Randolph-Macon is a co-educational, residential, liberal arts college in Ashland, Virginia, which is 15 miles north of Richmond.
