Post-doctoral position at Cornell University

The focus of this position is the neural mechanisms underlying recognition and memory for individuals and kin by odors, how such recognition and memory influences social interactions between individuals, such as mate preferences and choice, sexual behavior, aggressive behavior, and scent marking. We currently use several methods for assessing neural mechanisms: immunohistochemistry to detect the activity of immediate early genes, micro-injections of drugs into specific targets in the brain, and lesions of small areas of the brain. I am particularly interested in expanding our approaches at the neural level of analysis.
