from the study-frogs-in-Panama dept. We are recruiting US undergraduates and Latin American students for three-month, NSF-funded internships at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute studying red-eyed treefrogs. The project examines "Fear, death, and life-history switch points: cumulative effects of predation and phenotypic plasticity across three life stages." Interns will participate in large collaborative experiments and have an opportunity to conduct their own research on related questions. They will receive a monthly stipend, funds for travel to the field site, and shared housing in Gamboa. Applications are due February 10, 2008. Some additional information is in the pdf file posted here. More information and application instructions are on my lab web page: people.bu.edu/kwarken < New Field Course on Animal Behavior | Research assistants in songbird behavioral ecology >
