from the dept. The Animal Behavior Society announces the creation of the Edward O. Wilson Student Research Grant for Conservation Award. This award seeks to encourage students of animal behavior to participate in meaningful conservation-related research. The award is part of the ABS Student Research Grant Program and it will support a proposal identified by the Student Research Grant Committee as having a substantial conservation component. The DEADLINE for receipt of completed applications is January 22, 2004. Applications will be reviewed by members of the ABS Student Research Grant Committee, and award decisions will be announced by April 1, 2004. The preferred method for receiving and submitting application materials is through the ABS website (http://www.animalbehavior.org/ABS/Grants/ see ABS Student Research Grants).
