From: "Joseph Evans" <jevans at geeseoff.com>
Subject: Job posting
My company, GEESE OFF!, specializes in clearing nuisance Canada geese from
properties on Long Island with trained Border Collies. We are looking to
hire a Wildlife Biologist to manage a territory and help in the process of
gaining a better understanding of the problems caused by Canada geese.
There is a serious lack of knowledge and expertise in this area and it is
a growing area of conflict in suburban America that requires fresh
impetus, thinking and solutions. The successful candidate will also have
to learn how to handle a Border Collie, both close in and at great
distances.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Joe Evans

Subject: Fieldwork Assistant - Belgium
Fieldwork assistant for behavioural ecology of small rodents, Belgium
Autumn 2004
The Unit of Social Ecology of the Free University of Brussels is looking
for a fieldwork assistant for a project on rodent spatial organisation
this autumn. The work will be carried out from the beginning of September
to the mid-October (for 6 weeks).
The assistant will help to carry out live-trapping of small rodents in a
Forest close to Brussels. We mainly capture voles and field mice. We
investigate the influence of hantavirus infections on spacing behaviour.
Some lab work and maintenance will be also carried out.
Applicants must be able to speak English or French. A background in
biology is preferred but not mandatory. This is a good opportunity to gain
field experience in behavioural ecology.
We offer a salary of 900 Euros for the whole period including social
insurance. Arrangements have to be made for accommodation in Brussels
City.
Non-EC applicants should ask information in their country of origin about
working in Europe (it usually takes several weeks to obtain all
documents).
You can email for further information. If you wish to apply for this work
then please send ASAP a CV to Dr Alexandre Dobly (adobly at ulb.ac.be).
