Are you planning to buy a book from Amazon.com? If so, please do so through
the ABS website, as the society receives up to 5% of purchases made through
our site. You will find links to Amazon at the bottom of our home page
(http://www.animalbehavior.org) and at the bottom of the ABS Booklist page
(http://www.animalbehavior.org/ABS/Stars/Books/abs_books_display.phtml).

Subject: strobe lights and fish

Hello,

I am interested in possible harm, including momentary
disorientation, to either juvenile Pacific salmon or kokanee that might
be caused by very bright strobe lights (about 5 Hz). Does anyone know
of work on the effect of strobes on swimming, orientation, optomotor
response, etc. in any fish species or especially any salmonid?

Thank you,
Carl Schilt
