from the dept. I have a student who is interested in the effects (if any) of so-called "companion animals" (goats, donkeys, etc.) on horses and horse behavior. We have been trying to find relevant literature, but with no luck. As common as this is (the use of such critters to "keep horses company"), it seems that no one has made a formal study of this--or at least, not one that we can find!
