Field Assistant needed for black widow spider research in California

from the dept.
Field assistant needed for research on mate choice and mate searching in black widow spiders near Carmel Valley California.
I am looking for a field assistant starting April 26th (but I'm a bit flexible) until July 2. The job would entail assisting me with monitoring a population of black widows (searching out new ones, checking for egg sacs, collecting, night activity checks) and with a mate choice experiment (rearing, monitoring, designing and building cages). I need someone who is not afraid of spiders or being out at night in the woods (if you are afraid but can effectively pretend that you are not that is fine too), has a driver's license, likes being outside and can maintain an positive(ish) attitude. I need someone who I can trust to accurately collect data and who is able to help me troubleshoot the myriad of problems that come up throughout the season. The field assistant will be provided with accomodation, food and a small salary. If you are interested please contact me with your CV and 1 or 2 references at em.c.macleod@gmail.com
