Available for work and training experience in behavioral studies.
I'm a biologist, Ph.D in Ethology and Animal Ecology, looking for the opportunity to be involved in ethological studies, in particular related to ethotoxicology, reproductive strategy, social interaction, and behavioral ecology. I'm looking for a second chance. I studied to be an ethologist, with the main objective to work in nature. I had my Ph.D on the effects of environmental contaminants on animal behavior, but in laboratory conditions. At the same time, to improve my experience in wildlife and field work, I participate in a study on factors limiting the breeding success of the White-Tailed Tropicbird Phaeton lepturus on Aride Island, Seychelles. Main duties included seabird counts (transect), monitoring breeding success, study of reproductive parameters and parental care, nest site characteristics of tropicbird nests, reporting results to improve local management of habitat. Moreover, I collaborated as field assistant of Dr. L. Fusani in a project studying the evolution of courtship displays in the Golden-collared Manakin (Manacus vitellinus) in Panama. Main duties included mist-netting and ringing, blood sampling, video and sound registrations, behavioral observations, statistical analysis. I'm actually involved in a Postdoc in Evolutionary ecology of immune regulation at CNRS BioGeosciences, Equipe Ecologie Evolutive, in France. I'm working again in a lab, to investigate the importance of the regulatory mechanism in the immune system considering survival and reproductive aspect in mice. Main duties included animals treatment, blood samples, analysis of testis structure and sperm quality, I know that my background looks more related to lab experience, but I'm really motivated to continue to investigate how environmental and physiological alteration impact the development and expression of behavior, considering natural population of birds or mammals. I worked in different environment, following lab protocol or field work in hard condition. I'm able to work hard and do a good job, with flexibility, motivation, and enthusiasm for any new experience human and professional. For more information please contact me at belloni.v@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to send you a full resume, transcripts, and reference list. If you have an interesting position for me I will be more than willing to apply.
