Wild Horse Behavior Summer Interns Needed - new dates

Unpaid interns (expenses paid) wanted for an Earthwatch supported wild horse behavior resarch project on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Interns will collect and enter data on horse movements and behavior and supervise Earthwatch volunteers. This data is part of a PhD study on the behavioral effects of an immunocontraceptive used on the horses. The study will assist the National Park Service with their managment of the horses.


Required:

Availability from MAY 21st to August 15th 2008 - no exceptions.ability to camp on an uninhabited island (volunteers will need to provide their own bedding and personal supplies).willingness to walk in loose sand in the heat to find horses.willingness to take direction and work as part of a team.

This is an unpaid position. Interns will need to pay for their transportation to the island but food and lodging will be provided for the duration of the field season. Camping on the island will be at no charge and housing will be provided on days off in a small town in North Carolina.

College credit may be possible for college students and is encouraged.
