ABS 2006 Annual Meeting (SnowBird Utah USA, from 2006-08-12 00:00 to 2006-08-20 00:00) — by Shan D. Duncan

The 2006 Animal Behavior Society Annual Meeting will be held at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in the mountains of eastern Utah, 45 minutes outside of Salt Lake City. This is a gorgeous Rocky Mountain location, located in a dry mountain canyon with both alpine tree line and the desert floor with easy driving distance. It is centrally located in the Rocky Mountain West, perfectly situated for a family vacation. Our venue will be classic conference center/resort meeting rooms, i.e. ballroom or flat seating. Most meeting rooms will be located in the Cliff Lodge, the same building which will hold most of the housing rooms. Sessions will be held in the Ballroom, which will seat 700 people.

First Announcement:The Latin American Affairs Committee (LAAC) has proposed to organize a regular meeting to promote ABS membership in Latin America, and to promote interaction between Latin American, US and Canadian ABS members. Such meeting is proposed to be scheduled every two years in a Latin American country, under a format similar to US regional meetings (2-3 days, 80-150 people, no parallel sessions, and a poster session). Although open to all members, research topics and study sites, it should be of special interest to those members living or doing field work in Latin-America, or interested in establishing collaborations between US, Canadian and Latin American researchers.
