BYLAWS (Article IV, Section 7):</p>
<p>
1. Inform ABS membership of public policy issues that 
may affect current or future funding or conduct of animal behavior 
research.</p>
<p>
2. Receive, evaluate, and present resolutions at annual 
business meeting.</p>

<p>
3. Promote appreciation and understanding of animal 
behavior research among the public at large.</p>
<p>
POLICY (Section 3 b and c):</p>
<p>
Follow established guidelines for the handling of 
resolutions.</p>
<p>
ADDITIONAL:</p>
<p>
  1. Send announcement of upcoming Annual ABS meetings and host contact to 
all related societies or journals by early December.</p>
<p>

2. Produce press releases on the keynote and fellows lecturers, on all symposia 
or invited paper colloquia. Press releases should be made available to 
the host's Public Affairs Office (if relevant), local media, and science writers 
interested in attending the meetings.</p>
<p>
3. Coordinate publicity efforts with the Public Affairs Office of the Host 
Institution (if relevant).</p>
<p>
4. Promote appreciation and understanding of animal behavior research among 
the public at large. This includes contributions to the ABS web pages including, but not limited to, ABS Members in the News, Press Releases for <em>Animal Behaviour</em> and Books by ABS Members.</p>
<p>
5. Contact science writers to attend annual meetings, promote ABS members 
research.</p>
<p>
6. Announce to ABS membership the procedures and deadlines for submission 
of resolutions (normally via February ABS Newsletter).</p>

<p>
7. Notify regional news media of the annual meeting and invite news coverage 
of the meeting. Issue press releases when desirable.</p>
<p>
8. Submit annual report to Executive Committee.</p>
<p>
9. Send annual report and relevant materials to Historian.</p>
