Animal Behavior Society Developing Nations Research Grants: 2008

ABS announces the ninth annual Developing Nations Research Grant Competition. The funds are intended to provide financial support for scientific studies of animal behavior conducted by current members of ABS.

Applications are invited from student members as well as more established members of the research community. Only members of the Animal Behavior Society who are residents of a developing nation and are conducting research at an institution in a developing nation are eligible to apply. (Please note that student members of ABS are also eligible to apply for the annual Student Research Grants Competition.)

The following nations shall not be considered developing nations:

The United States, Canada, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, 
Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, 
Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France, 
the United Kingdom, Spain, and Portugal.

Grants are awarded for research to be conducted within a 1-year period from the date of award.

Applicants must be active members of ABS, i.e., enrolled or renewed as of 31 of December 2007.  The DEADLINE for receipt of completed applications is January 14th, 2008 (midnight EST).
