The Animal Behavior Society has obtained NSF funding to provide travel funding for 10 undergraduates per year for to attend the ABS annual meeting, where they will present their research in a poster session. Although eligibility for the travel awards will be open to all undergraduates who submit abstracts for the annual meeting, the Animal Behavior Society will seek to increase the participation of members of underrepresented groups with the long-term goal of facilitating their transition to careers in animal behavior.
Those obtaining Turner support must (1) register for the meeting, (2) be prepared to present a poster at the meeting (3) submit an abstract to the Turner Session through the online registration system by the deadline of April 1, 2004 , and submit a brief, personal statement to Penny Kukuk (penny.kukuk@mso.umt.edu ) explaining why they need financial assistance to attend the meeting and how attending the meeting will help us meet the goals of the NSF funding.
