ANIMAL BEHAVIOR SOCIETY DIVERSITY FUND

STUDENT REGISTRATION FEE AWARDS

The Diversity Fund was established to encourage participation at ABS annual meetings by individuals belonging to ethnic groups under-represented in the ABS. Currently, this fund is used to defray the cost of registration fees for students attending ABS annual meetings.

Eligibility:

Graduate or undergraduate students who are also African-American, Native American, Asian American, and Latino (or "Hispanic") American (including residents of Central and South America) are eligible as are non-white Africans.

Selection:

The number of awards will be determined by the availability of funds each year and by the cost of student registration at the annual meetings. Award recipients will be determined by a lottery including all valid applications received before the deadline.

To apply:

A letter of application and a signed statement from the student's major professor confirming the student's graduate status should be directed to ABS Treasurer. Please include:
1. Contact information, including an email address, regular mail address, and phone number
2. A statement explaining why you are eligible for this award (i.e., confirming that you are a student and member of one of the groups listed above)
3. A copy of your abstract, if you are presenting
